Softball Team Shows Off

The NorCal Hot Shots 14-and-under fastpitch softball team recently ended its fall season by winning the Northern California National Softball Association’s Fall West Pac 14U A division championship.

Although the Hot Shots were undefeated during their first three games of the two-day, 21-team tournament, they went into the playoffs as the second seed.

Despite the setback, the team charged to the championship, defeating the USA Elite from Stockton 6-1 for the title.

“I’m very proud of these girls,” said Coach Jeff. “They really came together and showed what they can accomplish if they played as a team. Every player gave 110 percent effort. They simply would not accept ending their fall season in second place.”

The spring and summer team is looking forward to participating next year in the Triple Crown Western World Series in San Diego.

The NorCal Hot Shots Fastpitch Softball organization is a nonprofit, competitive, girls’ fastpitch-softball organization, based in Oakley. The organization has a private training facility located in Antioch, which includes two fully enclosed batting cage stations, a double-lane regulation distance pitching and catching station and an enclosed soft toss and tee work instructional hitting cage.

Tryouts for the Hot Shots spring season team will be held on Dec. 6, at Magnolia Field, in Oakley.
