EMILY TOY #14
In 2009, the East County Hot Shots tragically lost one of their own. Emily Toy, a player on the 10U team became ill and after fighting a courageous battle during her hospital stay, Emily passed away peacefully in the early hours of the morning. Over the past few years, the Toy Family and the East County Hot Shots continue to extend their gratitude to the community for their loving support and prayers.
A website for Emily has been set up for anyone wishing to post words of support at http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/emilyt14 .
Emily has continued to be the recipient of support and prayers from thousands in our softball community. The East County Hot Shots have retired Emily's #14 jersey number from the organization and continue to honor her by proudly wearing her number #14 and a black ribbon on our uniforms. The Hot Shots also fully support the annual Emily Toy Memorial Tournament that is typically held in Northern California and will continue to support the memory of Emily in the future.
The Toy family also wishes to pass on how grateful they are for the tremendous support they have received during their difficult time these past years and it means so much to them that so many people out there are thinking of their daughter. Please keep the Toy Family in your prayers and continue to lovingly support them.
On behalf of the organization, words cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for your caring support for Emily, her family, and the Hot Shots organization. Your acions speak volumes about the integrity of the virtue of sportsmanship. Thank you all once again on behalf of the Hot Shot Family.
We Love You Emily
